AGCO Corporation (Duluth, GA) was purchased by HRCo in 1990 from KHD of Cologne, Germany. The company grew dramatically through add-on acquisitions and a well executed dealer development strategy. After taking the company public in 1992, HRCo exited this investment through secondary stock offerings.

Applied Process Solutions Inc. (Tulsa, OK) was formed in 1998 to create a leading global oil and gas process equipment company through the acquisition of the T.H. Russell Co. of Tulsa, Oklahoma by Maloney Industries Inc. of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, an HRCo portfolio company. After substantial growth, the business was sold to a publicly-traded energy services company in 2000.

This traditional management buyout put a core group of management, engineering, production and sales personnel in an ownership position while satisfying estate planning requirements for the founder of the business. Maloney became a subsidiary of Applied Process Solutions Inc. in 1998.

Petreco International Inc. (Houston, TX) was formed by HRCo and operating management in 2001 for the divestiture of the upstream process equipment division of Baker Hughes Inc. A very favorable UK acquisition and positive industry dynamics made the company a logical acquisition by a large energy service company and Petreco was sold in 2004.

Republic Realty Mortgage Corporation (Chicago, IL), purchased by HRCo from First Interstate Bancorp in 1992, was the nation’s leading commercial mortgage bank. The acquisition of Nation Bank’s commercial mortgage banking operations further increased market presence and allowed the business to become the dominant industry player when sold to GMAC Commercial Mortgage in 1995.
