Hamilton Robinson LLC Invests in Lifestyle Media, Inc.
New York, New York - September 8, 2003 - Hamilton Robinson LLC , co-investors, and management have acquired the assets of Lifestyle Ventures, LLC, a special-interest magazine publisher founded in 1994. Today, Lifestyle publishes eight multi-issue titles, is launching a ninth in Europe, and several annual reference guides. In addition, the company runs widely-attended conferences and is viewed as an industry expert in its segments.
Michael Weiskopf, who founded Lifestyle Ventures with Helen Cohen, and will serve as Chairman of the board, stated, "I've never been more excited in 25 years of publishing. This positions us for growth and enables us to provide the best service for our customers and culture for our people."
Julie Davis, the company's first employee hired in 1994 and President since 2001, will continue in that role. She added, "We provide specialty-interest readers high quality content and present advertisers with venues to grow their business. This investment allows us to add more value for our existing customers and target additional segments with exciting media to serve more interests."
Since 1994, Lifestyle has launched six magazines and acquired two others. Future goals include adding complementary books, CDs, videos, and web content and acquiring or launching new magazines.
Cygnet's co-investors in Lifestyle include Black Knight Partners, First Capital Group of Texas and BIA Digital Partners.
